MAY YOUR DAY BE FILLED WITH LOVE*******

I went into Wendy Whitelaw’s home the other day, and saw first hand the devastation of the fire.  It was a very sobering experience and it made me aware of the magnitude of the loss that she and her daughters have experienced.  It helped me to see the importance of the work we and so many others are doing in helping them in providing comfort, shelter, financial aid and love.  While inside the home, I looked at the entertainment center… completely charred and everything on it and in it destroyed….then I noticed inside one of the shelves there were a few books.  I pulled them out and they were three Christmas books. One of them is a collection of Christmas Carols, called ‘And the Angels Sing’.   To my surprise, they were all three in great shape and the only thing wrong with them was that the paper covers were burnt a bit.  The pages inside the books looked unharmed.  These were the only things on or in the entertainment system that weren’t destroyed.  It was amazing.  It seemed to be a reminder to me of the light and life of this season brought to the world by Jesus Christ.  Here were three books about Him and His birth and they were preserved.   Yes, He is the reason that we even celebrate this time of year when people tend to be more giving and loving.

Here is an inspiring scripture in the Bible found in John Chapter 1… In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and theWord was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.  The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.  He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.  He came unto his own, and his own received him not.But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his nameWhich were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus Christ gave his all for mankind….his time, his talents, his words, his works, his life, his love.  In this, he has taught us how we should be towards others.  He has taught us the joy and power in giving of ourselves.   We all have something to give.  I am grateful to be a part of this endeavor to help Wendy and her daughters.  I was impressed by those who live in her neighborhood, as I walked door to door to sell toffee.  The majority of them decided to buy toffee without much of a thought.  They were more than glad to help out and some expressed their desire to help in other ways.

I ask everyone who visits this website to purchase 1 pound of toffee…..just one pound, and more if you are able…..let’s do what we can to help Wendy and her daughters.

-Brian Lamprey

I sit sometimes in wonder how life seems to work out. This Year I wasn’t planning on doing much with toffee due to my pregnancy causing me to be in bed the last few months. Last week, though, I was laying there inspired that I needed to put something on this site for this Christmas season.
On Saturday the 3rd My dear friend Wendy, a single mom of two was out with her girls and a fire started in her garage. Everything she owned including her car was burned. She and her daughters were left with nothing. We can have inspiration daily if we listen. And those are the times we realize there is something greater then ourselves. This is one of those times. Wendy has been one of the power house friends in my life. Her words and gifts of talent have been a strength to me in my times of need. If anyone I could be a part of helping this Christmas season I feel blessed that it is her.
I have thought much of her girls. It isn’t the easiest thing coming from a divorced situation. We all have our struggles I know but for children it is maybe the most difficult situation they could go through. These two girls have been a strength to their mom for the past years. They encourage her, give her hope, and love her unconditionally. Now they have this blow, having nothing, some of their stability gone. All their dolls, drawings, special books, their pictures of things past, favorite shoes or shirt. All gone. I keep thinking of them and their strength but more of their needs. I love these girls and I know that through small means we can be a part of bringing back hope, safety, and stability. They deserve that.
I would ask that if your reading this to go order at least one pound of toffee. The cost to make toffee has gone up but I’m keeping the price the same and I want to give more then $5.00 per pound to Wendy and her family. I feel like this is a great way to give and receive.

Thank you for your love and support. I CAN NOT do this without you

With love, Jen

I can’t believe that another year has come. One year since the start of this site and since we put it out to help five families. Life has a funny way of showing up and it did last year. While we weren’t able to donate to five families we did help put on a fundraiser for a family in our community who lost their father. He left behind four children. He was their main source of support. Because of Toffee of Love and so many others with our intention set we raised over ten thousand dollars for this family. It was a beautiful experience. So many came out to help. Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook donated their most beautiful area for the concert and they supplied a three course meal. We had donations of art, music, and many other lovely gifts. Everyone came together and supported one family in need.

I feel blessed to have been a part of it. Now as another year roles around We would love to do more. Our intention will be to help again at least one family in need. I would love your help. If you know of someone who is struggling lets be the secret santa this year. We will donate $5.00 from each pound sold to this family and who knows what other fabulous and helpful ideas will spread.

What a wonderful time of year to get ourselves out of our own way and do something that will help another. I would love more ideas. We have over a month to put this in place and I have that feeling it can be great!

Much love and gratitude!
Jennifer, Violet, and Marley

On January 17, 2011, A dear friend Greg Lypps, was gravely injured suddenly in a golf cart accident while attending the FUHS baseball charity golf tournament. On Tuesday January 18, 2011, Greg was pronounced brain dead at the very young age of 41, he leaves behind his loving wife, Sara, four beautiful children, and his business. He was the sole provider for his family and thereby leaving them without an income.

On January 20, 2011, Greg’s organs were donated to several recipients that will continue to survive because of Greg’s giving spirit. In light of this tragic event, may we all experience a sense of peace knowing that because of Greg’s passing, others may have the opportunity to experience a fuller life.

With a heavy heart, I am asking for any help in providing assistance to Sara and the children. A check in any amount ($ 20, $ 50, $ 100, $1,000…), can be sent to the address below. Any money will be used only to assist the Lypps family as they enter into the grieving process.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR OVERWHELMING SUPPORT, WE ARE TRULY GRATEFUL.
